Levi and I met in a business management class after I took notice of his preferred transportation to school, a skateboard. Through various conversations before class, Levi and I became friends. It was his idea to create a website that showcased local skaters though photos and videos, much like SkateNC at the time. So there we were, sitting at my apartment kitchen table in 2005 racking our brains for a name to call our new website. Finally, someone mentioned Ghetto Vegas (my memory of whose idea it was is a bit fuzzy), giving a new twist to the “G” in Gvegas, a popular nickname for Greenville, NC. So it began, we bought www.ghettovegas.com and began to lie out the blueprint for the website.
